Museum Quarter Residence: Multi-Level Modern Living in Cultural Amsterdam
Design Labodina was commissioned to transform a three-level apartment in Amsterdam's prestigious Museum Quarter, strategically positioned near the Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark. The project encompassed a complete redesign across all floors to create a harmonious blend of functionality, elegance, and comfort for the owners.
The ground floor features an expansive open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area, where warm wood tones in custom-built furniture create an inviting atmosphere. A thoughtfully redesigned entryway incorporates practical storage solutions with a balance of open and closed storage for outerwear, alongside a statement mirror. The renovation included a reimagined staircase with an integrated rest platform that doubles as clever storage space, and a sleek powder room.
The first floor accommodates the private family quarters, featuring a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. This level also houses a children's bedroom, a dedicated home office, and a separate children's bathroom, all designed to maximize space while maintaining aesthetic coherence.
The lower-level basement has been repurposed into specialized zones: a workshop for the wife, a serene bathroom with a soaking tub for moments of solitude, a multi-functional yoga/guest room, a utility area with laundry facilities, and dedicated storage space.
Throughout the project, Design Labodina employed careful spatial planning and material selection to transform this centrally located Amsterdam residence into a sophisticated urban retreat that perfectly balances functional requirements with design excellence.
